Power folding mirror missing start-stop points

Power folding mirror missing start-stop points
Long story short, some a-hole used a hard object of some sort to try to knock off my passenger-side mirror. Surprisingly, they could only knock off the mirror cap (and cracked it) and because I had my mirrors folded up, the glass was safe. I removed it form the car entirely and had to knock back down where the screw holes were so the mirror gasket would sit flush with the door again.
The only real problem I have now is that the start and stop points when trying to power fold the mirrors seem off. They will fold up and back down once or twice but then the motor seems to try to go to far in or too far out. When it happens, I need to manually fold the mirror to the correct position.
Anyone have ideas if there is a reset process or anything that would cause the mirror to remember the start/stop positions? Is there a stop on the inside mechanics that may have broke?
It seems like the motor runs for a few seconds longer than the driver side and it is causing it to go to far after the first fold/unfold cycle.
Thanks!

Hopefully did not strip the gears. When pushed mine back from full fold in potions manually, they set back straight and reset the position. .

Are your mirrors locked into position? You can move them manually in either direction. When they reach the correct position they just lock into place. You will know if they are locked in, because it takes a lot of force to move them out of that.
I don't know of any other adjustment, but if you do find it then let us know... my co-driver's mirror is also a bit misaligned relative to its base but I could not find any way to adjust it (and I did remove the mirror completely from the car but couldn't figure anything).
