burning mustard colored oily matter from exhaust?

2006 Mini Cooper S with 65,000 miles, manual transmission. I have some mustard colored oily something coming from the end of my exhaust tips and a burning smell (like a deep frier) and of course some smoke, it may have a slight blue tinge but may just be white-ish. The car feels like it is driving fine although I've only driven it a few miles since it started to smoke. No sensors have come on yet. There is oily matter on the back of the car from it spraying out of the exhaust. The oil level seems fine and the oil is clean, it was still too hot to check the coolant level. Any thoughts and can it be driven 30 miles to the closest dealer? I drive it a good distance every day (min. of 66 miles) so it isn't an exhaust vapor thing.

I recommend you check the oil dipstick to see if anything but oil is there.

Get to the dealer or a trustworthy mechanic ASAP! I would recommend a tow and don't start it up again.

Yes, just oil on the dipstick. Getting to the dealer asap, no driving. It had overheated this spring, turned out the fan assembly crapped out. Since then the coolant tank also developed a crack and had to be replaced. Could this be the notorious head gasket spewing coolant into my system as a result of that overheating? I'll let you all know what they find.

PS, I had a friend that also had an '06 with only 14,000 miles on it who's fan also crapped out. odd.

Sounds like a blown head gasket.......... because of the previous overheating incident.

OP look under yr oil filler cap-- if there's a foamy-milky substance call MINI and have it towed in.

I agree, blown head gasket, with coolant is leaking internally. Do NOT drive that car!

None of the fluids looked out of sorts. I had it towed to my local mini guy (not a dealer) yesterday. They think it may be coming from the supercharger and not the head gasket. They had to jockey some things around and are pulling it apart now. I hope to hear something by the end of the day.

Yep, it was the supercharger. The teflon coating inside came apart, blah, blah, blah. The debris didn't get any further than the intake. New supercharger= $2100
misc. parts=$400
9 hours of labor
Estimated grand total= $3500
Ouch!
