I replaced :

- S/C hose
- Handbrake cable (both)

And I still have to do :

- bypass valve
- rear rotor brake
- front bearings
- Steering angle

Thanks god I did some work by myself !

It cost me over 5K in the last year in pieces and time (no warranty because its an american VGA)

I can say I have a lemon and I can say that my next car would probably be a GTI ( but I'll keep the Mini in my garage to had some fun with it because a Mini...is a Mini ! a GTI....is a car !)
WOW...do you buy your parts at the dealer?!
The engine fan is $89 (Aftermarket)
the PS fan is $133 (OEM)
PS pump is about 500$new (OEM)...but can be rebuilt for $200...
O2 sensors are free....MINI extended the warranty to 100,000K or 10 years..
S/C hose....???
Handbrake cable....sucks...

to go...
Bypass valveif its sticking about $90
Rear rotors...$100 for a good pair (much cheaper possible), plus 45-60$ for pads
Front bearings??? $$$, but do you have a HUGE amount of camber/or are you using spacers?? I guess lost of track time and High temps might help shorten their life a bit....Unless you are driving your car through standing water.....that and the brake cables make me wonder....
Steering angle sensor....Not sure....

To call it a Lemon when some of it...like brakes, etc are regular maintenance....Some are common...most likely were due to be fixed BEFORE the warranty ran out......To say $5000 in time and $$...boy you must charge your self lots of labor!!
Glad to hear you are still happy about your MINI...my repairs...Both Fans, rear rotors (due to rust), are the same...I had to do some Bushings too...but all are pretty common and cheap, and pretty easy!
