Hard Shifting

Ive searched around but couldnt find anything that could really help (03S manual). It seemed to have started with squeeking when shifting gear to gear. It then changed to hard shifting from gear to gear, basically having to pull into gear. It doesnt matter if the car is on or off. When the car is off, even without pushing in the clutch, it still is hard to shift (and still squeeks). Any ideas?

Water in Shift Cassett

Your problem is probably due to water/dirt in the shift cassett. If you are in a cold climate, look forward to being unable to shift on first start in the AM until the car warms up enough to melt the ice in the shift cassett. I hope to look at this on my 03 S before winter, but that was also last year's plan

Bob

What about the Clutch Slave Cylinder? I've replaced mine once in the summer and will have to replace it again this week. When it leaks it's hard to shift until it won't shift at all. Look under the front of the MINI near the driver's tire. Is there fluid?

I'm looking for a thread on this. I've found a few, but looking for more on a continual problem with the CSC and if there's something that can be done.
