Seat heater overheating?

I have a 2005 MCS, leatherette seats with seat heaters. Two weeks ago the heater worked fine, yesterday it burned a hole through the seat and through my pants -- literally.

Does anyone know how to disconnect the wiring to a single seat heater?

I can't afford to get this fixed right now, but I don't feel safe driving it with this problem. I'll note that it got turned on when I fumbled my cell phone in the parking lot -- 30 seconds later, a scorching feeling and smell of things burning. So it's not enough to just avoid using the seat heater..

There is a 20 amp fuse for both seat warmers in the kick panel by the pedals. I forget which it is, but there should be a label for it the door. Besides that, there should be a plug under the seat, but be careful not to unplug the airbag. Not sure which one it is though.

Found it!

I had assumed this would be like my house -- with one super-important circuit on the same breaker as a whole bunch of trivial things. But the seat heater had it's own dedicated fuse.

We looked at the wires, and couldn't tell the seat heater wires from the airbag wires, so didn't mess with it.
