Power Steering fluid volume

I've encountered the dreaded intermitent power steering failure that seems to haunt so many MINI drivers. I've purchased a pump and fan both and intend to make the switch on my next off day. I need to stop and pick up replacement clamps and the fluid. I know I need the Pentoshin CHS 11 hydraulic fluid but I'm hoping someone can tell me how much to buy to complete this switch. Thanks.

If a MINI dealer is not around...VW dealers also carry CHS 11 hydraulic fluid...price is probably just as high.

rack/pinion fluid

according to mfg. it's CHF 11 "S". (don't know that the "S" is important or even relevant...i'm just sayin'.)

as to cost, one shop specializing in vw, mercedes, bmw, jag, and mini quoted $27. it can be purchased at napa (of all places) for around $20. fact is, napa carries a surprising number of parts for the mini, including a reman rack & pinion that includes tie rod ends for under 5 bens.

Steering Issues

Has anyone out there experienced BMW North American Customer Relations stepping up to assist with parts and/or labor for out-of-warranty repairs on a MINI power steering pump and/or fan?
