Help again please.... CEL

A few weeks ago, I started a thread regarding my CEL. I live in the Philippines and there is no dealership here to support me.

I found a shop that has 2 types of OBD2 scanner. Unfortunately, the scanners were not giving enough information on what to fix. We already changed my spark plugs but still the CEL came back on. Can you guys help me decode the fault code? What should we do to fix it?

SCANNER 1
When they scanned my car using the EQUUS INNOVA 3110, the error that came out was (P2187 system too lean at idle bank 1)

SCANNER 2
When they used another scanner called the bavarian technic, the fault that came out was (2785)

I tried searching the net but I am not good at this type of research. The autoshop told me to research and tell him what I got. Thanks in advance for helping me. The CEL is really frustrating....

I forgot to add the information of my car. I have a 2007 MCS manual all stock with 12,500km milage. The check engine light went on around 12,000km

Any leads on what the cause or how to fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you do a reset of the CEL? And did it come back on after the reset?

1st reset by using the Equus Innova 3110 scanner. CEL came back after 20km

2nd reset again by Equus Innova. CEL came back after 8km

3rd reset using Bavarian software. CEL came back after 80km

4th reset using Bavarian softeare. CEL came back instantly

5th reset using Equus Innova. CEL came back after 8-10 km

I don't know what to do anymore! haha

Question: Are you feeling any loss of power?

Not seeing the car, I will try to help but it is with some guesses. But confirm this before doing any real work.

1. Try replacing the oxygen sensor or putting one of those exhaust bungs to move the oxygen sensor out a little.
2. Check for air leaks
3. Check for exhaust leaks
4. Check to make sure all the connections are good. Push them in and make sure they are tight.

Thank You very much for actively replying. I do experience power loss at high speeds.

Before changing plugs(CEL ON), I barely reached 150kph and at 5th and 6th gear, the car can't go past 5k RPM.

After changing plugs(CEL OFF), the car reached 180 kph but seems like it wasn't as easy reaching 180kph as before. Plus the RPM won't touch 6k. On my way home, driving 60kph, CEL turned ON again! :(

As per your advise, since I am an idiot with regards to car maintenance, I will forward your suggestion to my trusted autoshop. I hope they will be able to resolve my problem. Let me know if you have some more insights. I will try to bring the car in to the shop again this Friday.

THANKS!

Min 18,

Why don't you wait for a few more comments and advise before doing something. Perhaps another NAMer has better advise.

I will. I have a few more days before I bring the car back to the shop anyway. I hope more people would post their insights with what I'm currently facing.

The p2785 code is the "Clutch Actuator Temp Too High"

Possible fault cause for the p2187:

- Incorrect main charge signal
- Intake air system leaking
- Fuel pressure too low
- Volume supply of fuel pump too low
- Mechanical fault in injection valves
- PCV valve leaks
- Cap of oil filler neck leaking
- Leaks in exhaust system

I would check the high pressure fuel pump. They seem to crack on the early side.
