Same exact problem with my MCS 2008. I can fill up and the guage shows a half of a tank. This has been an issue since I purchased the car. My dealer in Arlington, Texas tells me that they will not nor can not reapir the problem until they can see it. I took photos of the guage and odometer, not good enough! I guess I will have to drive all the way back to Arlington, fill up just before pulling into the service department, and leave running until they can actually see the issue! Mini is not aware of any issues with the fuel guage which I thought was very interesting.

Sorry about your problem but how can they fix it by looking at photos? I agree with the service dept on this one, unless they look at it they can't fix it from a distance? You want them to use telepathy?

Long story short, car ran out of gas w/ 3 ticks illuminated and 5 miles. Dealer found both sensors to be defective and they were replaced. Even got a 2010 MCS convertible to drive around in for the day. :-D
