Problem with aircon and minor problem when starting up the car

Hi guys,

I noticed recently that my aircon sometimes when its on and temperature is at it's coldest setting it will suddenly go VERY HOT although it still stays it's on "LO". I try adjusting the the temperature and nothing happens. Try turn it higher blowing speed and it just blows the same hot air.

Then I pressed "Auto" and after a few seconds it went back to being cold. Sometimes it comes and goes on its own, but most of the time I need to turn "Auto" on and then off to get it to go back to cold. What could the problem be?

---------------

2nd issue
I disconnected the battery a few times because I knew I wasn't going to be driving the car for a little while. Now when I connect the battery and start up the car the speedometer needle shakes violently on 0 mph(goes below 0 mph) position until the engine actually starts. Solutions?

Iam going to go with weak battery. The only reason I say that is alot of people see this when its really cold, you go to start the car the voltage drops the amps go up to turn the starter the speedo then does a reset (Due to the voltage drop?) In most cases a battery going out could do the samething without the cold, The cold just makes it show up sooner. Not sure if thats what your problem is but it is a place to look. Same as a poor battery conn. Good luck to you

Hi man,

I think your description could be right. I've had the battery go dead 4-5 times since I've had the car (same battery since new). I just put it on the trickle charger and it starts fine except for that irritating speedo needle. I think I will look into getting a new battery.

anybody have any thoughts about what might be wrong with my aircon?
