02 mcs stalling upon starting

i have a 2002 mcs with 74500 miles on it and when i do a cold start in the morning it runs roughly for about 10 seconds and then stalls. it is due for a service in about 6000 miles. could this be caused because of fouled plugs or is it a more seroius issue?

I know for early model R53s, MINI had a service bulletin on this cold-start issue and it simply required an ECU update, perhaps this is something you can have checked when your appointment comes due?
