Stereo turns on, no sound from any speakers...

Hi! I have a 2003 Mini Cooper and it has the stereo that came with the car-- it was working fine, then yestersday I turn it on, it lights up, everything appears to be working, it displays that I am listenting to a CD, but no sound came out of any of the speakers. Not even a light static-- nothing. Completely dead. Has anyone had this problem and know the solution? Could it be a fuse? Do I need to take this to the dealer? They can be so expensive and I am no longer under warranty. Suggestions please! Thank you.

Did you try shutting off and restarting it?
Switching CDs?
Switching source? (try radio)
Maybe that way you can start to narrow it down a bit.

Yes, I did all that... switching CDs, radio on/off-- different channels... off and on re-start car and re-try-- and all of the speakers are just dead. So weird! Are the speakers controlled by a specific cable or fuse? Thanks.

Oh, and yes, a Harman Kardan. The factory stereo for 2003 Mini Coopers.

It could be your amp died, but usually when they do they make hissing or popping sounds through the speakers.

Yes, they are. Try to find a friend with the same H/K and swap the amp. Most likely your problem
