AC Condensation Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

I did a search and only found one thread with no answers.

When the AC is on, water collects under the mat in the pass side. Anyone else have this problem?

There is a drain tube coming from the a/c evap housing that leads out through the firewall . The purpose of this is to drain condensation to outside of the vehicle .Your tube is clogged or come loose from the firewall .

Finally it's fixed. Turns out the hose leading out was kinked.

I have this problem now, too. Can someone guide me on where to look for this mysterious drain tube?

And anything else I should check? Sunroof drains?

Thanks.

TulsaMINI typically the a/c evaporator is located up behind the glove box area and the drain tube runs from that through the firewall to drain the water out.If the tube gets kinked or accidentally dislodged the water will then drip on the passenger footwell area when the a/c is turned on.You could probably reach up behind the glove box area and feel a rubber tube to see if it is kinked or if it came loose. If it is kinked try to unkink the tube or if it is loose try to reattach it.

See if that might help.

Thanks for the info....but I'm an idiot. It's on the DRIVERS side. I didn't even catch that he was talking passenger side in the original post. D'oh.

The wetness appeared right after I drove through a car wash (It was touchless, so don't rag on me too much). I didn't feel any dripping during the wash and I felt around underneath the dash and didn't find any moisture anywhere.

I lifted the bonnet and the white plug there on the firewall or whatever you call it is still in place. I don't know what else to look for.

Tulsa,
I had passenger side door seal issues. I don't know if the same issues show up on the driver's side, but a replacement doorseal and a adjustment of the door striker solved (or seems to have solved) my problems. Just another thing to have the dealer check.
