Vibration noise from cold 1st gear starts from stop
In my 04 MCS, I've been getting a noise when starting from a stop in 1st gear and the car is cold. It sounds like the flywheel or clutch is vibrating. It lasts about a second. The car has about 43k miles on it.
I have an '04 too and it also makes the noise when cold. I have deduced (perhaps inaccurately) that it is the exhaust. After it heats up some and expands lengthwise, the mount under the passenger compartment is no longer hitting upon the body area. It did not do the noise until I put on an aftermarket cat-back exhaust kit. The mounting rod is longer on one side of the cat-back kit and I believe it is the noise culprit. If not then I'm not sure where it is coming from. Just like yours, it only happens when cold. If you find it to be something else, please let me know.
Thank you.
David

My 2003 MCS makes a noise when starting out, turning to the left, and fully engaging the clutch. It hasn't done it turning to the right or going straight ahead. Once the car warms up, the noise stops. It doesn't always do it. If I take it to a dealer, they are going to say, What's the problem and I will have spent 5 hours on the road for naught. Any help??
