Not sure how many folks are willing to make the drive, but thought this was worth mentioning...
The Lane Motor Museum in Nashville is having a special exhibit of Minis (mostly old, some new) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the car. In addition to the Minis, it looks like the museum has a lot of other cool and unusual cars, most of older European origin.
A fellow MINI-owning buddy and I are heading down there with our better halves in a couple of weeks to check it out, but I thought others on here might like to know about it as well.
(BTW, I've asked about the Mini-related "special event" that they are supposed to have at the end of August, but as of now it's on hold...apparently MINI of Nashville is having some problems and hasn't been able to come through with some promised assistance. The museum is supposed to email me as soon as the have confirmation on if/when it's happening.)
Yes, with the advent of digital photography, plenty of pictures shouldn't be a problem. Truth be told, I'm probably looking forward to seeing some of the rest of their collection as much as the Minis. It looks like they've got some really unusual and interesting stuff!
(And I just realized I still need to call you about picking up a Zippeeshade...I am actually starting to get a sunburn on the top of my bald head! )
Looks like we're heading down there on Labor Day weekend. My buddy that was going to go with has had a change of plans, so it's just me and my girlfriend. Works out OK, though, since she's from Knoxville and now we can spend an extended weekend and hit both Nashville and Knoxville. There's a huge Labor Day fireworks show in Knoxville on Sunday, so I think we'll do the museum on Saturday and then head to Knoxville Sunday morning.
