Cars and Cycles Against Cancer, June 6, 2009, Blytheville, Arkansas
Since it's right down the road (I-55) from y'all, wanted to call your attention to this upcoming event - members of several MINI clubs, including Little Rock (AMOK) and Memphis (Midsouth MINIacs) will be attending.
The Classic Mini is turning 50 in 2009. This will be part of an open Car Show held each year, the first weekend of June, in Historic Walker Park, (709 North Ruddle Road) Blytheville. We are planning a birthday celebration for the Mini Cooper.
Mini clubs will be given a police escort to the show and the key to the City when they get here. For more information contact barry at barrett1@sbcglobal.net
The proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society. The Park and its huge Oak Trees provide great shade and the perfect setting for a Car Show. Last years show attracted well over 500 Cars and Motorcycles and raised more than $27,000 for the fight against cancer.
The Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.org) plans two National events in Blytheville. The Eastern States Championship May 30th and 31st and A ProSolo Event June 6th and 7th.
This year is expected to break all records. The Car Show will be the culmination of a solid week of Car related activities and events.

Blytheville ? Now THAT brings back memories.... three years there in the late 80s before the Air Force Base closed down. Even then it was a small town with not much but Memphis within 200 miles. Glad to see something worthwhile going on there.
It'll be a last minute call for us to attend, but if possible we'll be there.
