Got an email from Adam's Polishes today. They are putting on a detailing clinic this Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m. at Modern Image in Mira Mesa (8556 Production Ave., San Diego, CA 92121).
I'm not involved in the clinic at all, but figure I'd post it as a good opportunity for San Diegans who aren't up for a drive up to OctaneGuy's clinics in OC to get some tips on clay bars and proper Porter-Cable 7494 technique.
It's a free event, and they promise to have cool cars on hand like an Enzo and Porsche GT.

Sorry I missed this. I couldn't make it anyway, since I was leading a small SD Mini's run to see the Borrego Dinosaurs and check on the flowers.
Hope Adam's comes back and does that again sometime.
off topic, but i would have loved to join you on the drive! are you organizing anything else anytime soon? any links to this SD mini's you speak of? ive had a heck of a time finding a san diego(assuming thats what sd stands for in your post) crowd. i would definitely like to meet up soon with some locals!

There are three Mini/MINI clubs that operate in San Diego. I'm active in SCMM and SD Minis.
SCMM has a fair number of members in San Diego and does runs down here several times a year, although it's mostly centered in the L.A. area. There's a big annual back country Casino Run coming up, but the schedule isn't set yet. Great organization, lots of activities, and excellent forums section on their website at www.clubscmm.com.
There's also SD Minis which has monthly breakfasts in either Escondido or in Mission Valley. We usually get about 20 or more people and cars at those breakfasts. No dues, very casual, very friendly. It's THE organization in San Diego for classic Minis (aka "Proper" Minis, as a Yorkshireman of my acquaintance said, while sneering at my 2004 MINI), but we have a large number of MINI owners. And some like me with "both kinds of music" (Blues Brother's reference there...). We also have been having dinner meetings in La Mesa, with one this Saturday. We communicate mostly via our Yahoo group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/SDMinis/
There's also West Coast Minis, who are pretty active and have a Yahoo group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/westcoastmini/. I've got my hands full with involvement with two clubs, so haven't done much with these guys lately.
Come on down!
