7th Annual Motoring through the Hills of Texas
This year's 2016 MTHT is September 30th and Oktober 1st.
Grab hold of your steering wheel and brace yourself for a FULL day of Motoring through the Hills of Texas. We'll catch some twisties, stop for lunch, and mingle with other MINI owners. Most likely will start from same location in Kerrville as we did for 2015.
The offical hotel for the event is in Fredericksburg. The Counry Inn Motel. (http://www.mycountryinn.com/motel.html). Their number is (830) 997-2185 if you rather call them direct.
Book EARLY! Ask to be near Ronald Watt's room when you book.
As of yesterday there was 14 rooms left. ****** one up before they are gone, there are plenty of other hotels in the area, and some may wish to stay closer to the starting point in Kerrville. If anyone is staying in Kerrville, PLEASE SHARE, that way others can hang out at the same place.
Once the motoring is done, head back to your hotel, relax, rest up and then meet up at the Annual Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg for a festive evening! (http://oktoberfestinfbg.com/)
If you REALLY want to get into the spirit of the festival, ladies, considering picking up a dirndle dress, guys consider picking up your own lederhosen!
There are a few sites you can order authenic outfits from Germany if interested, but make sure you plan ahead, takes a little while for them to get here. The one I have used is: http://www.oktoberfest-dirndl-shop.co.uk/.
Meet and Greet will be held on Friday, September 30th, and a full day of spirited motoring will be held on October 1st.
Learn more about this event by checking out the event page on the MINIFunDrives group page on Facebook.

MFD started the Motoring through the Hills after the "Hill Country Rendezvous" died out in Fredericksburg, TX that was being held on Labor Day weekends.
Anyhow, I was out looking for some videos and came across this link on YouTube of a bunch of MINIs getting lined up after breakfast for HCR back in 2006.
Although MTHT is not nearly the same size, the spirit of the routes that HCR emcompassed did spill over to the MTHT events.
Check your schedules, and if you can make it please come out and join this year's MTHT event the end of September / beginning of October.

I spoke with the Country Inn this morning, they have about 10 rooms left.
If you are planning taking part in this year's MTTH and need a room, please give them a call soon.
The Hill Country / Fredericksburg area in the fall is a popular destination, also remember the event is held the same weekend as the Annual Oktober Festival held in Fredericksburg. Lodging availability in the area usually is tight.
Info: The Country Inn Motel. (http://www.mycountryinn.com/motel.html). The number is (830) 997-2185 if you rather call them directly.

Quick reminder, the Motoring through the Hills of Texas event is THIS weekend. MINIFunDrives group on Facebook is where most of the information is, but if you are interested in more info and aren't on Facebook please let me know. We're expecting amazing weather, and a real good strong turn out of MINIs from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and other parts of the country.
