A co-worker mentioned to me today that he saw "at least a hundred" MINIs in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area over the past weekend (10/30-10/31). Couldn't find anything here, so thought it might have been a dealer event. Anyone have info? Just curious now.

It was "Casper and Friends Ghostly Drive" by Smoky Mountain MINIs. There were 16 of us, with 3 classic Minis. We had a blast. Everyone is requesting that it be an annual drive. Trick or treaters were out in force in Gatlinburg and were treated to the site of dressed up MINIs and MINI owners.
We had a set of CDs for the drive with fun Halloween music while driving in Gatlinburg and spooky stuff when we took off on the darkened back roads. One of the classics had a great big glowing pumpkin on top. It looked like a flying pumpkin in the dark as we traveled over hill and dale. If you are close to Knoxville, keep and eye out for some of our activities. We may do this run in the daylight as everyone wanted to know where they were
You can read about the drive and look at pictures at www.smokymountainmini.org Be sure and check out the 6 Speed Spider. It's a great picture.
Since they split to the club forums there doesn't appear to be a good place to post things that are more regional rather than club related here on NAM.
This was so much fun that everyone asked for a 2nd annual next year. I will be very busy with MINIpalooza in September but will still put this run on for Halloween, probably Oct 29, 2005. Not sure if I will be able to pull off the music disc again. It was timed for the drive and worked out amazingly well but bery time consuming to produce. Come to think of it, repeat attendees probably wouldn't know if they were on the same road anyway. We might just do the same drive again. It was dark and no one knew where they were.
