Kentucky Mini Owners. Hello. New owner here and local website.

Hello there,

Name is Jennifer, Im a new mini owner. Im also a racer and enjoy autocross (although admittedly I havent raced for a year) and spirited drives and noticed that the mini club often takes drives locally.

I own the largest local automotive enthusiast website, www.Louisvillestreets.com we have several mini's who compete in autocross locally as well as participate on the board. We've been around for 3 years and have 4,000 members. We also promote local races including autocrosses and even drag events and road events. I'm also adding a "mini" forum to the board soon since I've just purchased one. Up till now Ive had forums for all makes except mini.

I noticed a number of folks went on a cruise this weekend which is nice. Also something you may have missed out on that was advertised and set up through www.louisvillestreets.com..... yesterday Saturday the 24th was the Ken Towery/Kuhmo Tires ride and drive. BMW and Kumho teamed up to bring 3 new mini coopers shod in brand new kuhmo race tires to our local autocross venue. Sign ups were on my website. Those who signed up got to drive all 3 mini's for 4 hours during two sessions all day long. Imagine what fun! Free racing in full race prepped BMW factory mini's! Hopefully Towery/Kuhmo will offer this again sometime!

But I digress.....

Im here looking to meet fellow mini enthusiasts and see whats shakin with the local mini scene both classic and new. Is there a large Louisville mini contingency? If so, where are you located and what activities, if any, do you get into?

Cheers
Jennifer

Hey guys,

We live in Pikeville area and also spend a lot of time in Pigeon Forge, TN. I've had my S for about a year and have made several mods, both performance and exterior, and usually keep the car in TN... We belong to the Blue Grass Bimmers CCA and also the Smoky Mountain Mini car clubs.. Would love to know of any activities in this area so keep me informed and I'll do the same for you. They just finished a run to Nashville for a MINI homecoming and there is an Xcross scheduled for Oak Ridge on the8th. We also had a MINI meet at the "Dragon" at Fontana Village, NC this spring.. That was a hoot and have several events planned for the Dragon Run and a Minipalooza (don't ask) next year in the Pigeon Forge, TN area. Give me a buzz at NAM and let me know if you hear of any events for the Lexington area.

The meet last Saturday was a huge success and seems to have sparked some ideas for everyone. It's good to get the Louisville and Lexington groups together. I live in Lexington and have family in Louisville, so I'm kind of a hybrid.

More events are being planned right now, so I'll post them here as info becomes available.
