July 23-25, 2004 will be the weekend of our Driving School at Barber Motorsports Park. The DE will cost $375 for Students (Saturday & Sunday) and $150 for Instructors/A-Students on Friday. We're hoping for 100 Students and 60 Instructors. Online registration will be available some time in May. More details will be posted on the Calendar as they come available. So start spreading the word, mark your calendar, and plan to attend!
If you have any questions please contact Carol Lowery, clowery@albmwcca.org or 256-773-1814.
I'm signed up! Hope some other MINI's come out to play!
This is a fantastic opportunity to spend a fantastic weekend on the track at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama. If you are not a member of BMWCCA and want to join the fun, you might as well become a member since membership dues are less than the extra cost for the driving school for non-members.
Considering that the Porsche Driving Experience at Barber costs $1700 per day, this is an outstanding good deal on track time at one of the finest tracks anywhere!
See you there!

MINIclo, her hubby, and myself went out to the Barber Motorsports Museum this afternoon. Amazing collection of motorcycles! Said to be the best in the world. . .
Had fun watching the Porsches at the driving school zipping around a fun downhimm hairpin.
Can't wait until my MINI is out on the track

I'll second that. Barber's museum is worth spending a day at by itself. Bikes ridden by everyone from Hailwood to Agostini, and ranging from turn-of-the-century silent gray fellows to one-off factory racers.
The track rivals anything in the country (Laguna) and friends tell me it's better than a lot of the Euro circuits that are so well-regarded. Blind turns, technical, with a lot of variety and elevation changes.
Considering that a one-day track day usually costs about $240, this sounds like a bargain.
So am I the only MINI going out there to spank the M3's and M5's?
Just for fun, I bought a BMW badge for my MINI that I am going to install temporarily on the boot just to have some fun with the BMW snobs that not only believe the MINI is not a real BMW but also cannot pass me in the turns on the track
