Dan (I think) over at Grassroots Garage does that kind of work. He's in NC but I'm not sure exactly where.

While Dan at Grassroots can do the job he's in Thomasville just off Business 85 south of High Point. One advantage to his place is you'll get to sample some local BBQ.

I'm having all my work done at National Speed here in Wilmington. Their rate is $80 per hour...a little better than Schaffer BMW. Plus they have the only dyno in town and their shop is incredible. They also have a BMW certified technician. http://www.nationalspeedinc.com/

Dan has done all my non-warranty work, pulley, CAI, boost guage, injectors, brake stuff, exhaust...he also works on race MINIs and other race BMWs.

Give him a call if you're willing to make the drive...

The sound is NOT coming from the clutch. The sound is coming from the dual-mass flywheel so simply changing the clutch will not help the problem.

You can't go wrong with Grassroots and they will surely do the job right but you will need to figure in the cost of the flywheel too. Interestingly the noise does not lead to premature clutch wear or failure but is really annoying. Mine was replaced under warranty at 38,000 and every time I read a post of someone who has the problem out of warranty I am happy that mine went early. If I had to pay it would have been around $1800. I am sure Grassroots can do better than that.

Rich
