From our rally master...
We'd love to see all sorts of MINIs involved this year!
Quote:
Last Year the MINISota Motoring Society held its first New London to
New Brighton Rallye and MINI Run in conjunction with the London and
Surrey Mini Owners Club. Run the day before the London to Brighton
Mini Run, the NL2NB was a smashing success. Last years participants
sporting the Car Placards, Tee Shirts, and comemorative window
stickers of the British event made the 140 mile drive through senic
landscapes and twisting roads, also attended by a contingent of the
Iowa MINI Group.
This years event again with similar goodies will again run the Day
before the British Event on May 20th.
We would like to invite theChicagoland MINI's to our event. We can
promise you great roads and a really fun drive through Minnesota's
Lake Country. Ending in New Brighton Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin
Cities.... A few Hours wonderful drive from the Chicago Metro. For
those that are up for it a slight diversion at La Crosse, WI and
then North along the River will add slightly longer drive time but
will reward you with a wonderful scenic vista of the upper
Mississippi River Valley, where you might catch a glimpse of a Bald
Eagle.
Its a week-end drive that will charge your senses with wonderful
scenery, and a fun event... plan to join us.....
best regards,
==barry

Latest info:
Hey everyone! Things are starting to get exicitng with the New London
to New Brighton Run and Rallye! We are in the advance planning stages
and need to have people let us know if you are planning on attending.
Go to www.sotaminis.com and click on NL2NB registration. You can
either pay by check or cash upon delivery. We hope to have PayPal
available soon. The cost is $35.00 for the driver. This includes
$5.00 for Juvenile Diabetes, a t-shirt, dinner and some other stuff.
Addition meal tickets are available for $10.00. The Rallye will be a
gimmick rally where you try to solve a mystery using the clues that
you get at check points. Things are not set in stone yet so some of
the details might change. You will also get a sponsor sheet where you
can get people to sponsor you per mile to raise extra money. The
person who raises the most money will get a nice prize (to be named
later).
Original regalia for the London to Brighton Rally will be available
again this year for a cost of $40.00 for the package (Plaque, window
sticker and t-shirt) or $20. for the t-shirt alone. These orders are
due April 15th. Ordering details to follow. Please let me know if
you are interest. email me at rob.mahaney@integraonline.com.
Please register as soon as possible. We may limit the amount of
participants.
Rob

Holy crap - I just found out that we will have a member of the rally from the UK flying over to participate in our event and create a big write-up from their experience!

This really sounds like fun, but I'll be gone from May 14-the end of May and can't make it. My school activities really interfere with MINI events. Is there anything MINI-related planned for June? That will probably be the only month I am free this year.

Bummer about your schedule. Yeah, we'll have some events all spring/summer long. June might even be the new month of the BBQ/Scavenger hunt. I'll keep things updated.
