Been real quiet lately...

Hey all. It's been pretty quiet here lately. Just thought we'd check in to see how everyone's summer is going. Things down here are pretty good. We've been trying to get out and motor whenever we can. Been doing lots of disc golfing.

Now for the bad news...Molly is at service...again. Her halfshafts are still clicking and Motorwerks is trying to figure out what's wrong. I think they are going to replace both shafts and we'll see if the clicking returns. If it does...it will be the fourth time. Not sure what we're going to do.

Half-shafts clicking - sounds new to me. Is it all the time? Is it loud? Hope all goes well! Let us know what happens.

What do you have for a loaner?!

What are the rules for the "lemon-law"? Isn't it a possible lemon if they can't remedy it after 3 times?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the lemon law only applies when it happens five times within one year..

Yay! You're all still alive! We were getting worried. Spose you've all been out motoring with the nice weather. We're hoping to this weekend if Molly comes home.

Speaking of which...

Thanks everyone. It has been rough. But our spirits aren't dimmed too much and we still love our little Molly. Hopefully this will be the last of the mysterious clicking.

I have to say Motorwerks has been really cool about everything and has helped us out and been very accomodating to get the work done. They have even been nice enough to give us a 325i for a loaner a few times. I've been very happy with Motorwerks' Service Department. Can't say I have the same feeling about MINI Corporate or BMW.

I also managed to find out why Mini owners usually get Enterprise while the BMW owners get BMW's. They are treating BMW & MINI as totally separate and BMW owns the loaners. Motorwerks MINI doesn't own any loaners so we end up with Enterprise. I know the SA's are working on getting some MINI loaners. Hopefully soon!

As for the lemon law...we have looked into it (I am somewhat ashamed to say). But we will only resort to that as an absolute last resort. We've become rather attached to our little MINI. And I'm confident that the SA's and Technicians (Ian & Jim) can get things sorted so she works right.

I will say that when she's running good, she hauls ass and is the funnest car I have ever driven (and believe me I've driven some pretty cool stuff).

Anyway, thanks for the kind words everyone. Hopefully we'll see you all at a MINI or Mini event sometime soon.
