Did NAM change?

For it to go on autopilot, someone has to be in the cockpit to flip the switch. I don't think there is. This whole forum site has been abandoned by the overlords in favor of cheap beer and loose women methinks. And yes, the home page is totally different for what reason is anyone's guess.

Yes we did. A fantastic road trip of right at 6500 miles over just short of 5 weeks, some on Rt 50 - Loneliest Highway and Rt 1 to 101 up the coast. Major encounters were Colorado Monument, Moab, Yosemite, San Fran, Griot's Garage in Tacoma, Mt. Rainier and Yellowstone. Our l'il guy handled the roads with aplomb.

Very close to the trip we did last year. I can see why you PM'd late last summer. Our trip was about 5500 miles, but then again we started in AZ.
We enjoyed the coast highway and all the sights, except Yellowstone on the way home. We had not been to Yellowstone and was looking forward to it. I will not ever go back there in the middle of summer. FAR too many tourists and it cost a bundle to stay in West Yellowstone. We had planned to stay a week, but left after 3 days. For anyone that reads this, hit Yellowstone in either May or September. How was your stay?

PS: ...and yes, the Dragon and Charohala skyway are absolutes in the plan.

When you finally get tired of wrenching sit down with two old tomes: 'Blue Highways' by William Least Heat Moon and 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' by Robert Persig. Those will inspire the desire to take the roads least traveled making your journeys truly memorable. We motored 2 to 3 hours of a morning and 3 to 4 for the afternoon giving us ample time to stop along the way for some serious amusement and amazement. Good luck on your quest.
Oh yea - the search for truly phenomenal brew pubs is mandatory. They are out there! My co-pilot even learned to appreciate the fine nuances of a hearty Porter.

Oh well I guess I will get used to it.
What a coincidence, I just drove through YellowStone Park, but in a huge Sprinter van, and did not even realize it. My GPS took me that way heading back to Arizona from motocross racing in Montana. I was so wrapped up in seeing where I made a wrong turn I didn't even get to really appreciate where I was. But then again, I was making the drive up from Arizona in 1 day and back to Arizona in 1 day. I was a little tired.
