Ads get clicked on drop-down menus

Ads get clicked on drop-down menus
I've been finding occasionally that when I drop down on Quick Links
to choose Mark Forums Read or Today's Posts, that it instead will
snag the ad rather than the link. Somewhat frustrating.
Does it with the Advance Auto ad but not with most of the other ones.
Edit: Found I can get around this by dropping down from my signon name instead
