Less than what? As long as there is no link there is no problem.
the person simply made note of a company he was working with so he was banned.
Just curious thats all.
If what your saying is true thats much better than what I thought nam had become
A Communist state where no one is allowed an actual oppinion.

Thats what I was told by a moderator. If you post a "link" you need to be a working part of that company. I have never heard you can't "mention" other vendors?
I am splitting this run off from the original thread it was posted in, as it is WAY off topic.

No, you are referring to a member who had multiple other infractions. Who had links in their signature, which is a direct violation of NAM guidelines. That was just the tipping point, nothing more, nothing less. Had the member in question not had the prior infractions, the 7-day ban would have been nothing more then a 25 point infraction, essentially a meaningless warning.

Correct JIMINNI. If you have a link in your signature you must either be a vendor or be confirmed to be part of the vendors operations. In addition, you may post about products sold by specific vendors without a vendor agreement, as long as there is no link between yourself and the company.
I've learned in the last few weeks they are not "rules" they are "guidelines" and they are open to a rather large interpretation based on the more then facts.
It is obvious that several people on NAM continually get away with saying and posting just about anything. That's one of the many reasons why most of the most helpful and intelligent users have already left NAM without saying goodbye.
Where's the rule in the site guidelines that allows you special privileges by becoming friends with a moderator?
During the past 5 years I have watched the NAM community change from a highly informative technical forum where the users worked together to solve problems and constructively explore new ideas.... to a highly spam filled forum (where 90% of the posts are in the Off Topic forum) and the other 10% of posts are mostly bickering between a few members and vendors.
I also feel that there are several moderators don't know the difference between an intake and an injector and shouldn't even be allowed to post in the technical threads, especially attempt to "moderate" them.
The bottom line is, in a forum this size, with literally tens of thousands of members, that there will always be a handful of people who are unhappy - because they spend all of their time "keeping score" of what others do instead of being responsible for their own actions.
