Gallery Pictures

Just wondering if there is any way to show if someone has anything in their Gallery or not, without having to click on it. Is there a way you can only show the link if pictures are there or have it another color if there are pictures in the gallery. Maybe even have a number of photos next to the gallery link, then if it is 0 we know not to waste our time clicking on it.
Reason being, I can't tell you how many times I'll read a post and think I've got to see the posters car. Then click on it and they don't have anything in their gallery. Seems like I am clicking on the gallery link a lot for nothing.
Just a suggestion........

I raised this very question quite some time ago. I hope your inquiry does a better job of growing legs than mine did. Nothing like a six legged inquiry bashing about to get someone's attention.

From my quick research on this I haven't found anything to show that it is possible (I know this was asked and addressed several times in the past) but I'll do some more looking into it at a more "normal" hour for you tomorrow (when I'm a little more awake ), and update if I find anything.

Drew, If I may...I know a little about the product used for the gallery and the mod thats used to display the gallery link in the header. It's an all or nothing type of thing, either every member has Gallery displayed or no member does. It would take a fair bit of hacking the code to only display those that have gallery images. In effect each time a page is built there would have to be a query for each post in the tread to see if that member has an image in the gallery. The overhead to the server might prove daunting on a site of this size.

The simple answer, at this time, nope, can't be done.

Asked and answered. The little guy's attempt at bashing about ran him into a brick wall. Thanks for the rapid input and I'm sure Kimini will thank you too.
