So Motor On decide to close the Magnaflow/RMW thread because of this reason:
"Thread closed. Clearly not talking about the exhaust anymore"
So my question to the NAM admins and moderators, what the heck is going on? This thread was started for informational purposes and you let people come in and sidetrack it, exactly what they intended BTW, no infractions seemed to given out, no warnings? Why did you let this happen? I know you guys know whats going on. The posters that came into that thread to sidetrack it got what they wanted, to get the thread closed down and you obliged them yet again, thank you NAM...not!
It's easier for MODS and ADMINS to close a thread then to deal with the real issue/s on NAM. What are the real issues, the real issues is the FACT that NAM as no leader and they are not willing to enforce the rules and hell will freeze over before any current mod or admin do anything about guys like PGT. That's why I have already emailed IB and if you'd like to do the same PM and I'll give you the email of the guy the Admins and Mods answer too.
I miss Mark, founder of NAM, more each day. I know Drew is a nice guy, but we need a few people willing to clean out the bad fruit of NAM so the 99% of us here can enjoy the community without the bullys running around kicking sand in our faces. They still hang out here even thou they have the no rules land of MU and now Nate's new MA too. If you guys think NAM and it's members blow, then I wish you would blow out of NAM and leave us the hell alone.

Ouch I agree with you mostly, but actually PGT did not post in the thread I am referencing to. Longboard was the main culprit in this thread. I await any responses from a NAM official.
Hi Jim, you are right, just so happens that Drew closed this thread http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...oiler-lip.html today as well and left the PGT slander up. Seems to me we have the same basic issue of NAM abuse by just a few of it's members, yet NAM Admins are not willing to kick the few out of NAM that have made a joke of it's rules and spirit.

Thanks for the PR but let me clear something up about Motoring Alliance. There are rules on Motoring Alliance and so far everyone has been able to play nice, even those that may "muddy the waters" here on NAM.

Silly goose!! You don't even know what ''slander" means??
I'm entitled to posting my opinions here same as anybody. They don't have to match yours...despite what you think. Kindly tell us all what rule was broken? Or, better yet, ask a mod to tell me since you don't have any authority here.

Just read that thread Yep got ugly real fast NAM is not vendor friendly right now
It takes a little time to go through a thread that is that out of control and get all of the infractions issued. Failure to remain on topic with the question asked was grounds to close the thread plain and simple. There is also more for moderators to do on NAM than play babysitter. Once the thread is closed that allows tending to other things that need to be done, including setting up new users and screening new posts to prevent cluttering everything up with spam, as well checking on other threads, and responding to other reported posts. There was a very significant issue with users being able to follow the respect issue, to the point where the thread had been so mucked up the OP had to repeat his question on page 5 (yes PGT I keep it on the newb settings it makes it easier when explains things to newbs), many of the posts in that thread were complaining about how off topic it was, and many others in that thread were mudslinging, chastising the poor behavior already expemlified. JIMINNI you yourself even called for the thread to be locked, yet now you're confused as to why it was?
Using NAM is a privlige, there are rules that must be followed, period.
Quote:
DISCIPLINE
Violation of any of the above rules will result in a warning and/or "1st Strike" by the moderation team via email or PM. Interpretation and enforcement of these guidelines is done by the moderators and staff of North American Motoring and all judgments are final. It is not possible to list every possible contingency and variation on each rule, hence the need for human interpretation by the above parties for each specific case.
This post was made so that those that managed to remain on NAM, will better understand the changes in behavoir that need to be made to remain on NAM.
Drew, first off thank you for coming in and responding. But here you say,
"Failure to remain on topic with the question asked was grounds to close the thread plain and simple."
Drew, that was what the people that came in there wanted to happen. They should have been warned and their posts should have been deleted.
I think you got this statement mixed up,
"JIMINNI you yourself even called for the thread to be locked,"
Actually I said, I would not report a post in that thread, as I knew that would only help to get the thread closed down, and that is exactly what certain people wanted to happen.
Anyway, again thanks for responding and I hope NAM is going to watch things a little closer. And BTW, that was my first ever infraction
Hey Drew, why close the thread when you could just delete the offending post/s and issue your tickets and let the thread move on or came to a natural close?

Some threads require more moderation than others, some get out of hand quickly, some would exhaust excessive man hours to delete offending posts. If a thread has rapidly or excessively deteriorated or has had all on topic questions answered there is often little harm in simply locking the thread allowing users with future questions to simply start a new thread to answer their specific question.
Many (but not all) threads do provide a reason and or explanation for why they are locked so that other users that come across these threads later on can understand what needs to be done to prevent threads getting locked.
I've been thinking about this long standing issue on NAM. It hit me this morning with I got in my MINI and looked at my rear badge.
"Rule the Bends and Bend the Rules"
The few on NAM that seem to be the issue are playing within the "letter of the law", but some of us think they are not playing within the "Spirit of the Law"
Then guys like me Flame out, my bad, breaking the rule while those that just bend it walk about free of points.
This is where Mark was great, he knew the Spirit of the Law and he knew those that willing broke it and would deal with them.
IB is only focused on the letter of the law.
I would hope the Admins and Mods would look at the history of members and take note of patterns and be able to come to an agreement when someone is making hay bending the rules and deal with them as breakers of the spirit of the rule, not just the letter of the rule.
just referring to your comment here that you wish Mark was here to bring the hammer down:

the reason we talked was because other vendors, like you, got your panties in a wad over my posting my opinions. Hell, one was even stealing my intellectual property despite asking them not to and I pwned them for doing so and they were told 'you did it to yourself'
