What happens if someone starts an "I don't like IB" thread

Just wondering what would happen

It's gets looked as it is in the site feedback, an area that is often scanned.

So now it's been seen. whoo hoo

Care to elaborate why?

Ohh yeah...Mark..that should be ..."an "I don't like IB" thread". I have 50 cents that says Edge will correct the thread title within 48 hours.

Nathan, your on Does that account for timezones

I love to elaborate, almost as much as I like to get a discussion going.

I don't like how IB ignores the membership when questions/requests are made.
How come since IB took over, there seems to be less input by Moderators in threads?
How come all sorts of non MINI related things show up in the google side bar thing, that I can't figure out how to make go away, keep showing up???

I realize there is no going back, but do they really need to be so "corporate"

How come some folks can reply to a thread, but their little green light is not on Big Brother

Mark

Being Edge is in OZ with family right now it really tosses the timezones question into a tizzy.

There was a period of time when the Contact Us was not being monitored. It is now and we are not going over the period when it was not being monitored.

We have fewer moderators. This is a big hole there that needs to be filled in, it's on the admins agenda to address.

It won't go away, often it is MINI related but in an odd way. Like the Target ad for sheets featuring a Mini Circus design. But also the ad pool is much bigger now and certain times there are specific buy ins. For quite awhile there were often ad's for forklift wheels in threads about wheels. The system is far from perfect. Chuckle at the mismatches cause as you say, there is no going back.

Like any big entity there are entrenched methodologies and silliness. It's no longer the lean NAM that could turn on a dime at the owners whim.

Lest ya'll think I am some sell out to "the man"..nah..I am often one of the first to let them know of shortcomings in my own inimitable style.

48hrs is 48 hrs regardless of timezones But if you throw that stopwatch in an aircraft for a long time you can buy yourself a few seconds to a minute.

IB lets the moderators and Admins respond, as we are now.

There's many reasons there's less mod activity, some of it is we lost you! It's not to do with IB but more motivation to keep Mods and Admins interested and active.

Remember way back when before IB showed up and the google bar appeared? Heather would put all those very random entirely unrelated ads into the bar? Again it's not IB all the time, I guess that's more google's issue.

Let's let the discussion roll!

LOL you guys crack me up... Nate, been staring at the Moderator Log a lot?

10 1/2 hours for those who are counting. I actually first renamed it to just stick in the missing space between a and "... and it wasn't until I opened it up and read Nate's post that I realized it should have been an, not a. Thanks Nate.

In all seriousness though, I suspect IB doesn't care if people post they don't like what IB is doing/has done as long as the criticism is constructive, not simply slandering the company (<-- my opinion, not certified fact). Keep in mind that the Moderators and Administrators (and Curmudgeons) are not actual representatives of IB though - we really don't have any say in what they do. It's feasible they might ask our opinion sometimes, but generally speaking it just happens.

One recent example - the new feature that changed every thread and forum URL to be "friendly" and include the name of the thread/forum (not just the .php URL and the corresponding number). They did that without even announcing it to us.

Sure, it's easy to miss "the good old days" (I do sometimes), but since there's really nothing we can do to change the situation, I think it's better to focus on what we can do here.

If everyone is fed up, why don't we start a new site. Screw IB. Let's get a new domain and all agree to "meet" there. I know that is easier said than done, but I think it would be cool to use this site to communicate as required to get it going, and then all walk out together. Sort of a revolution of a users' union done in "guerrilla" fashion?

I also am pretty sure that if I had more knowledge, I might be more able to help and less willing to try; but maybe it is a possible "solution"? Just thinking out loud and a little bit outside of the box.

Me too! I happen to like Indi Blue. (Not as much as Chili Red, though .)
