Blue Face Plate Tach Done, pics inside, woo hoo!!!
Moderators...please do not combine threads so that these images are easier to find.....Thanks
I have installed the Blue Face Plate I got from www.cockpitspecialties.com I took some comparisons between the face plates, OEM silver on the right, new blue on the left, as well as the backs to show the different levels of shading to further and evenly difuse the light. I think they did a great job adn the line up of the lighted areas is amazing. I have not done the speedo yet, but will when it is light outside and warmer, it is about 12 degrees outside and my garage is only about 40 degrees right now, so I am done for the evening. There are more pictures in my gallery for those that want to see high res images of the face plates. I have been waiting 3.5 years for blue face plates, and these are AMAZING!!!! Enjoy the pics and feel free to ask me questions.
The last pic shows the difference between the new tach plate and the OEM speedo while lighted for side by side comparison between the 2. Not bad IMHO.

got the speedo done, total time is about an hour....would have been shorter, but my hands are freezing because it is wicked cold in the garage this morning. I will take a better night shot/lights on shot when it is warmer sometime next week. Too cold and hungry for breakfast to set up the tri-pod in the car at the moment, but these will give you an idea. I but off the 2 little tabs where the needles for the gas and coolant temp are, so the LED lighting can get through there, when I tested it before re-assembly, I noted that the needles are a bit darker than they used to be, so I trimed it up about half way of the total tap, mid hole for the cut line, and they work well as you can see in the pics.

excuse the car, it has been snowed in since the first Denver Blizzard, but I wante to show a comparison of the face plate and the Indy Blue paint. There is a lot of dust on the car, but whatcha gonna do when there is snow piled up 3 foot high, 10 foot wide and 45 foot long behind it? can't wait for spring to get the car out for a drive. Next week, the rest of the interior comes out as I am going to be doing a custom interior with leather and other trim to reduce the amount of cordoba beige, and tie in more blue/black/chrome.

piece of cake, not hard at all. The hardest part was that my hands were cold, so getting them to move the way I wanted them to was the hard part

The blue on blue is nice. I have a hyper blue and white cooper myself. Im thinking about getting the black faces myself, I ordered a blue scroth harness so I figured that would be to much blue in the cockpit, Im also blacking out alot of thing, wheels, grill, side markers, fender markers and all the chrome so I figure why not the gauges
