Interior/Exterior DIY clear front turn signal lenses

What you need are the silver bulbs. BMW sells them and the part number here in Aus is 6321 7160 897. Be warned, they are not cheap. Check out Real OEM link here (item 3) http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...68&hg=63&fg=05
Good luck!

Going to try to make a batch of smoked lenses this weekend. I think I got the color consistency problem figured out.

Only if you're looking for them--and you have to look pretty closely (to the point where your neighbors start wondering why you're staring into your car's headlights.)
I've ordered some red/clear taillights from Classic in Cleveland to complete the look. Any way you could work some similar magic for the taillights--they look like they're more of a single piece item, though.
vin.

I just ordered a pair yesterday for 14 bucks from www.silverbulbs.com
They have tons, you need the 1156/7506 model for the front lights.
I TOO would like to take out the "fried egg" yolk from the tail lights. I guess it sorta looks like a bloody egg, kinda gross, but true?
Any suggestions anyone?

Yeah I tried those but they are not a perfect fit and are really thick and look like $h.t (IMO). I sent them back to Aaron.
I tinted mine w/ VHT Nite Shades. - you can read about it here - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...1&postcount=40

Let me get this straight, you're looking for clear, silver, or the blue-ish color bulbs for the front turn signals and FLASH amber?

I'm going to pull my rear lights tomorrow to see if there is any way to get the orange lenses out (like Bruce did with the fronts.)

Let me know if they come out. I don't mind the orange but I would like to make some red lenses to match the tail lights. I'm not a big fan of the clear rear lens.

I'm having some issues with my original mold. I have some new material (harder and more durable) on order to make another mold.
Are you interested in a set? I still haven't been able to make a 100% bubble free set yet, but I think they look pretty good.
I'm trying to keep a list a people who want them. I've been pretty busy at my real job.

I'll try to pull one side tomorrow evening and take a look. I'm thinking there must be a separate insert for the turn signal lens (so there could be different turn signal lens colors) while using the same taillight mold. It makes sense from a manufacturing point of view.

I thought about buying some red dye and try to dye the clear parts to match the existing red, however it would probably look noticeably pink/fake at night and not match

If you guys want to go all red, the easiest thing to do is 'red' out your tailights with a film. Pretty much like blacking out your lights, but with red instead of black. Ive seen some Minis on here that have red-out tails and looked great! I want to get the clear lenses, because my Mini is Chili Red/White. The orange really doesnt go. Oh, and I too would like to know the bulb required to 'white out' the side repeater next to the 'S'.

edit: here is where i found it

the pictures used to work...
Woha jimmy, where did you buy all those new scorcher lenses and rear light pods, not to mention number plates??? .... i made em!... yes, my first attempt at moulding, the lights are pretty much perfect when mounted, the rear pods should be pretty good when trimmed and the number plates also....
I used an silicone rtv rubber for all the moulds, clear resin for the lenses and alumilite liquid plastic juice for the white parts...
I found a nice way of de-airing the casting juices, microwave em!!!!!!!!!! it really made a difference to the clear resin especially, took almost all the bubbles out and made the curing process much quicker.. the alumilite white plastic was a little harder to use when microwaved, it was a 30 second gap between mixing the 2 parts and it getting to a point where it was too thick to pour proerly!!!!!!!!!!
