June Meet N Eat
This month we are heading to Trussville. We are eating at ***** T's & then heading next door to ride Go Karts
We will be meeting on Tuesday this month. Tuesday June 3rd. As usual we meet at 5:30, eat at 6PM, then we will ride Go-Karts afterwards.
Louispup is finalizing all the details so check back but here's what he has so far:
***** T's Menu
Trussville Play Station - Go Kart Place
***** T's is a family type of place, with really good chicken wings, et al. They have a bike night on Tuesdays, and would welcome MINIs as well. 10% discount, and they would have door prizes and drawings. Nice folks, great wings (did I say that?) They're closed on Sundays, so we went by on a Saturday to do food shopping for our Super Bowl feast. They close at 8pm.
A few blocks away, Trussville Playstation has decent carts. If we can keep the kiddies off the track, I think we could have a lot of fun. Carts are $6 a run (7-10 minutes or so) and they are open 6 to 9 pm.

You guys are gonna make me do it. I have been boycotting *****-Ts for about two years now, and here's why.
I was a once a week patron until one night after a 12 hour work day, I hurried home in time to swing by ***** Ts and grab some wings. Upon arriving, just PRIOR to 9:00PM (closing time), i rolled up to the drive through and was told that they had closed already. None too happy, I vowed never to return.
Now, I have had my Mini for about 6 weeks now and have been unable to swing any of the meets. I live in Trussville and can see ***** Ts when the leaves fall and have almost broken my vow a time or two. It appears that the fellowship of Mini owners my be the link to take me back.
They are darn good wings.

Bill, I was running late and Wt's saved me, for I was supposed to be bringing them home. So I can relate with your disappointment. They were just closed as I motored up to the DT; but they still had some wings- and gave us like twice what we ordered, all that was left! The manager said, "well, we have it, we might as well sell it." So maybe there's new management? They have a Ms Pac man machine and something called Radikal bikers.
We rode carts last night and had fun. Got to playstation minutes short of their close at 5pm, but still time for a run, I objected. Come back at 7, they said- then called us back to issue a pair of tickets for later. When we got back, there was already a line for tickets, which we got to avoid so we rode right away. Gosh, I like Trussville.

Sure as long as you don't have a flat
Do you know how to reset the warning light? There is a button to the right of the emergency brake that you push. I can't remember the exact sequence of hitting the button vs having the car on but it's in your owners manual. If resetting doesn't work check your tire pressure. I got my tires rotated last month & they aired to up 2 tires at 40 psi & the other 2 at 33 psi so I had to let some air out of 2 tires & even up the psi to get my light to go off

Well, the problem is, I think, when you push the button to re-set it, it records the current pressures as "correct" pressures, right? So, I think you are supposed to only re-set it when you have the tires filled to correct PSI.
I think the tires have nitrogen in them, so I can't just go to the gas station and top 'em off with O2 either.
We just checked the tires and they are all at 30 except the right rear, which is at 25. I'll probably drive it as is, and then get it checked out ASAP after that. Heaven forbid I show up at a Mini Meet in the SUBURBAN!! Aaaaah!!
Thanks, T!

Thanks Teresa. . . . I know how you get when I don't show up to events for a while. . . .
And to top it off, I'll have my boot full of fun and interesting parts and accessories to be offered to locals before hassling with shipping stuff all over the place.

yep that was a lot of fun. The go Karts was a great idea. Bamatt and Myself was going at this kid in front of us and then Bamatt was after me the rest of the time. There was some Bump Drafting going on. The second time out was more fun because the kart I had was faster than the first time out.
But the first time was fun too.
i would to say thanks to Chris from the Birmingham News for coming out and taking some pictures and talking with us about the Club.

Photos on Engine Block
Thanks again to you guys for letting me hang out with you on Tuesday. It confirmed my hopes that Mini owners wouldn't mind a bit if I just showed up unannounced and uninvited to their party.
Here's a link to the story and photos. I hope it reflects the fun, friendly atmosphere I saw while there. I hope to have video up either later today or tomorrow, but can't promise...

Please let me know of any upcoming events so that we can publicize them on our blog, and hopefully join you again.
Thanks again!
