Wed. Night at Portillios!

Anyone in the Chicago area up for a meet? I'm hoping to make this a regular thing and start getting some planning for addiontal meets underway too

So I am throwing out a proposal for a regular meet at the Portillos in Shaumburg (adject the MINI Dealer) starting July 11 from 7-9 pm come and go be it for dinner or desert or just to chat, 30 min or the whole two hours the more the merrier and hopefully that can continue the 2nd Wed. of the month or a regular basis if there is a decent turn out.

We can plan more meets making runs up north or down south or even out west (I think a Galena run is still in the works).

So post up if you're interested and be sure to spread the word to your fellow motorers! Last I heard we had over 100 enthusiasts in the area here is a chance to become active! Hope to see you out there!

In All Seriousness

The wife's familia is all in the land of wild onions so we head out there at least once a year.
Thus, barring any mechanical malfunctions, I really will be in Chicagoland on that date.
That's why I thought I'd check the forums to see what's happening and, by coincidence, we had just had some Italian beef sandwiches from the only Portillo's outside the Midwest- out here in SoCal.
It'd be nice to hook up with some of you's.

Hey BNB, will you have your MINI with you? Maybe you could bring some In-N-Out back for this old SoCal Boy.

My "little guy" wants to come for a grilled tuna sandwich. The problem is 3 or 4 get expensive!

I moved from Chicago to Fl almost a year ago. I miss my Portillo's hot dog with all the works Although, I don't miss the cold I used to go to the one by SAMS heading toward the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

I know that one it's right before 90 on Golf Rd used to go there for lunch all the time.. but traffic at Golf Rd/Algonquin Rd is just nuts all the time now you waste 5 minutes trying to get through that intersection. Good thing there's 2 near my house (by Old Orchard and by LGH on Dempster)

Would you like that animal style?
Yes, I'll be in my MINI. (With over 108K though, pray it doesn't break down in the Texas Panhandle somewhere. )

Jan, I was going to go but had to stay put for a while since my little one cut her foot with the sharp edge of a dvd. She eventually was able to limp around.

Maybe we have met. At the 2006 Auto Show at McCormick perhaps?

I once hooked up with the Chicago MINI Club at one of the dealer's (can't remember which). That was in summer of '03.

Here's a (clickable) pic from that journey.

Too bad that street is so narrow and not enough parking. Mario's would be a great place to cool off on a humid day, no?

I lived in Mt Prospect by the Elementry school.
