My new bride and I will be in Chattanooga for a few days this weekend, and the owner's lounge is down. Is there anything fun to do that locals would definitely reccomend? Twisties and amusements? Thanks much.
Well...first of all...it's http://www.riverbendfestival.com! And the finale is Saturday night.
Even if you don't actually go into the festival...I think you should go hang out downtown...there will be LOTS going on down there. Find a good place to watch the fireworks Saturday night. They are fantastic!! (As for eats...if you want BBQ, Sugar's is good and right off the freeway and they have a great view. http://www.theblueplate.info/site/ is good and one of the employees has a MINI!)
And there is always the http://www.tnaqua.org. We have a new exhibit with penguins!!
As far as twisties...just run up Lookout Mountain on your way to http://seerockcity.com and http://rubyfalls.com.
Good luck and happy motoring. Wave if you see any MINIS! We'll be looking for you!Congratulations!!
We ate at several nice restaurants, St. John's, Back Inn, Blue Plate, also Stickey Fingers a time or two... Stayed at the Stone Fort Inn, great folks there to match the wonderful food we had. Did some tourist stuff, but the best was the Inn's private parking lot on Sunday (gated and empty) where we did some spirited donuts in reverse. Thanks again for the info- the Scenic city of the South is a great town.
What's going on in November?? Of course we'll be back- you have a great town, full of fun things to do. And it's clean.
We saw a few MINIs, I tailed a BRG/W MC for a few blocks downtown on Weds, and also saw a CR MCSc in front of the Bijou and some Blue Cooper at the Bluff Arts district on Tues. On foot, waved at another CR variety. Oh yes. The electric shuttle for downtown was Great!
