Yellow Half Engine
Just got this, hoping it's from gas cap. I filled up and put cap on, drove 15 minutes, went in for a sandwich and started back up with the light on. Checked cap and was tight.
I restarted three times in the parking lot and still on.
How long should it take to reset if that is the only problem?

I dont have connect.
I bought an innova 3030 and it read code to be P10ED. Can't find that to be a standard format code for BMW. I reset it and test drove and restarted a bunch and seems ok. I ran fine even with the code. Turbo was kicking in and driving same as always.

Had this happen to my CM last week. Finally got it scheduled to go in next week. My non-mini mechanic (who does all my other cars) ODB'd it and it had 10 codes from mis fire to cat converter could get damaged kind a stuff. Dropping it off at mini in the morning and they can have it til its fixed. I'll let you know what they say...or do...

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to post here so it might, hopefully, help someone out in the future.
I've experienced the P10ED engine code twice in the past few hundred miles on my R57 with less than 38,000 miles on it. It turned to be a "fuel rail" issue. The mechanic notes from the dealership were as follows:
37851 FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR FAULTY CONNECTED BATTERY CHARGER. SHORT TEST FOUND 2BF2 STORED IN DME. FUEL SYSTEM TEST PLAN FOUND FUEL PRESSURE CORRECT AND FUEL PRESSURE ADJUSTMENTS CORRECT. FOUND RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR SHOWING INCORRECT PRESSURES AT TIMES. REMOVED INTAKE MANIFOLD. REMOVED AND REPLACED FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY. REPLACED INJECTOR SEALS. REINSTALLED MANIFOLD. CLEARED FAULTS. TEST DROVE VEHICLE TO VERIFY REPAIRS.
Hope this helps someone else. Motor on!
