The 47mm hits full boost about 500-ish RPMs later than the stock turbo, but pulls up top a LOT harder and longer. If I remember correctly, the stock turbo hits a wall around 5k RPMs. If I had more RPMS up top, the power would keep climbing with the 47mm turbo.

I'm going to guess the 50mm will hit full boost a little later, maybe another 200 RPMs. It has the same size turbine wheel, but the compressor, of course being bigger, will pull in a lot more air. I can't say for sure, but it shouldn't be too far off from what the 47mm currently spools at, and most likely will need less boost to do it.

Before I install it I'll be getting the turbine housing ported for a 3" downpipe, port the turbine inlet and exhaust manifold to increase flow for better response.

Down the road, I will get the head ported and forge the internals to handle more boost and really see what the potential of the turbo is.

I'm trying to find a "big turbo" that can be mostly plug and play for those wanting to go bigger, while keeping the twin-scroll turbine housing since we are still just a 1.6L. I'm wanting to get into that EVO/STI arena... I had an STI that was pushing 380BHP (~300WHP) / 340ft/lbs on the stock turbo. I had basic bolts ons and a tune.

I've read up on the GT25/GT28 and they are cool turbos, but they go to single scroll and suffer big time at the low end. I was told the 50mm can flow up to 40 lb/min which is enough to potentially get to 400HP.

this is all good info, going from my r53 to a all4, im sure ill mess with the turbo at some point casuse 181hp doesn't cut it for me =D

I would definently be happy with 250 awhp on a all4

250whp is no problem at all. Being that the ALL4 is about 3220 lbs stock, you will probably want more... Or do a little weight reduction.

My ALL4 is roughly 2980 lbs now. Shooting for sub 2900 lbs.

Rear seats cut about 100-ish lbs. But besides that I was still able to drop about 140 lbs, and that's because I haven't gone with lighter wheels (40 lbs with the setup I'm going with) or carbon fiber seats (about 30 lbs saved off with those using the OE sliders). Another one of my focuses is to balance the weight as much as possible. Right now I'm a little front heavy, more so than stock. I plan on relocating a few things to the rear of the car and taking more off the front, or replacing with lighter versions.

I was working with a company to create a carbon fiber drive shaft, that should cut 10 lbs off. Like the wheels, being rotational mass it's like saving 8x the weight. I got pretty far with them then they got stuck, I had to work with their guys on the east coast, my business got busy so I had to put it on pause.

I went 3" exhaust from the engine back (3" is hard to fit under the engine area). That had to cut off at least 30 lbs. I deleted the cats, they weight quite a bit, plus it provides better flow, and it's healthier for the turbo. If you go 2.5" that'll save some weight over 3" piping. I'm running straight thru mufflers in the rear, since the rear box is heavy.

I'm running a 5 lb li-ion battery which cut 35 lbs.

I removed the arm rest, I believe that was just over 5 lbs.

I deleted the 20 lb windshield wiper reservoir in the front. Plan on putting a smaller one in the rear trunk area, I did that to my previous car, a 2950lb E46M3.

I removed little nic-naks here and there, I think that totaled around 10 to 15 lbs.

I can't remember everything else, but nothing too extreme. I had kept track of all the weight I pulled off, then I misplaced the list almost a year ago. I know I left off at 3080 lbs early last year. When i pulled the back seats that was 110lbs off, but then I added some sound deadening and 2" memory foam padding to create a more dog friendly area in the back. Couldn't be more than 10 lbs added back on.

cool beans, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to delete the rear seats, since that is the whole reason I could use the r60 over my r53. wheels will definently be changed, what are you running? I would like to stay with 17's for tire choices and run a superleggera, I have ultra leggeras on my r53. and with a turbos, the less pressure behind the turbine, they better they flow

Nice, the R60 backseats are pretty roomy. Since my dogs have been back there 99% of the time, literally one person sat in there once, 2 years ago. I figured I'd set it up to be more comfy for my dogs.

Right now I'm running stock wheels. But I'll be going with Apex ARC-8 wheels, 17x8.5 ET40. They weight about 17.2 lbs each! That's about 33 lbs cut off from the OEM 18" turbo wheels. I'm actually in a Group Buy thats going to start in like 20 days or something. Trying to get that discount

I already did. I removed it about 2 years ago.
