Ok, problem SOLVED! Had to splice into the wire that's already in pin 41 of the connector instead of inserting the terminal that is pre-fitted to the harness into pin 4. Here they are in the garage while I celebrated them actually working:

and here's a daytime picture of the lit lights:

There's almost no light off-axis. I'll see what they look like at night later and post a picture. I am however a bit concerned about the light output though. There's only a 3A fuse in the circuit so that means there's only a TOTAL of 36W maximum split between the two lamps. The pattern on the garage wall seems very concentrated though, so maybe there will be decent light at a distance. More later...

Really happy with the look here.

You might notice that the mesh is gone. I didn't have time to try to modify it to fit with the grille cutouts for the brackets, so I took the lower grille off too and I'm running without for the moment while considering what to do. Ideas welcome!

I really like these. I'm thinking of getting a set but mounting them centered in the lower grille area.

Those LED Rally lights look awesome. Get some shots at night from the cabin or garage door, before and after. Might want to cover up the headlights for the test wonder how bright on there own. You have so many lights now, its LED crazy on the front end.

If you do this please come back and share your mounting strategy. If the lights are a good color match to the LED DRLs, I think they would look mighty fine located just inboard of the brake ducts.

Would like to see those at night, really like how they match the DRL LED design.

I'm thinking of recessing them a bit into the grille.

Spiney,

I'm installing the rally lights and the bundle of ground wires that attaches to the post under the fuse box is not long enough, did you experience this?

Also my fuse holder came with a 15A fuse inserted and a 3A fuse in the bag. Am I suppose to replace the 15A with the 3A? The part where they talk about the fuses in the instructions is in german (that part wasn't translated).

There was enough length for my case. I did have to play with how much wire to leave inside the car and how much to pull through to get it all to play nicely though.

Not been many changes to report for a while, so it was about time I started on some. Just ordered English Oak door handles at a giveaway price from ECS Tuning. I wanted to get them before they disappeared, but I'm holding off on the dash pieces in the hope that the price drops a bit more!

Agreed. As much as I like spending money with you guys I wanted to see something in the flesh before committing to the dash trims. The sale you had on the door pulls was very handy!

Welcome again, the wood also adds a touch of class to a Mini or MINI

I have the RR Goodwood interior trim and it looks great.

Now you'll need to get the ellipses hydro-dipped. Someone can probably get a really good match.
