Rear view Mirror covers

Has anyone found a Black Jack rear view mirror cover that will fit the 2013's? I found a Putco one on Amazon that said it would fit but I just got it and it is not the right size.

The MINI roadster and MINI Coupe share the same rear view mirror. Its a diffrent design that is used on the E88 BMW 1 series convertible and the E89 Z4.

More angular , less round.

No factory rear-view mirror covers yet, I will let you know if I find them.

Thanks and hope that helps.

I would totally consider a Black Jack rearview cover for the Roadster, if someone would make one.

There might be ones in the future for the R58 and R59. But Currently no "Ray Line" or and other Union Jack / Black Jack / Checkered. Like mentioned above.

------------------------

For the R56 R55 R57 & R60 model since it has the more round cover. There is Pink, Yellow , Blue , Orange , and Green. No red interior rear-view mirror color.

Green "Ray Line " example

I'd order anything at this point and have it either wrapped or painted.

I wonder how much that would cost.

Let you know within a month, if not sooner, will have rear view mirror cover, center console & possibly oval door trim in chili red. The roof in carbon fiber. And possibly new stripes for "bonnet"

Local shop here quotes "about $15/sqft," but somehow I doubt that rate applies to a tiny project like just doing a mirror.

I assumed it would be hard to quote small Individual pieces. And would probably get a "better deal" if I had it all done at once

The newest R58 Coupe and R59 Roadster still have the different design interior rear view mirror. Actually shared on the E88 1 series convertible and E89 Z4 BMW's design , but no center mirror caps covers in those lines.

I don't know if anyone has taken a R56 full rear-view mirror and disabled the neck to fit it in the R58 and R59 platform then transfer the key fob receiver board located in the housing so work with there key fob. Then so the R56 cover will work on the R56 mirror in a R58 / R59 ?

No factory MINI mirror caps yet for the R58 / R59. Maybe in the future.

Another option is the wrap it.

If you don't like the colour just break it off and throw it away, you can't see anything through it in a Coupe or a Roadster with the top up anyway!

Unearthing this thread - wondered if anyone ever found a rearview mirror cover for the roadster? I'm hoping to track down a blackjack version.

Nothing yet from MINI is that fit that style mirror , maybe in the future.

But we do carry the Di Noc 3M material and you could create your own Black jack pattern with that silver and black / carbon material . Just watch not to cover up that front light eye on the cover , towards the right. Some People do there interior panels and dash.

Here is the tool kit to apply it.

Thanks and good luck.

I like to think I'm artistic but I'm not nearly artistic enough to create my own.

I just noticed the F56 mirror looks an awful lot like the Roadster/Coupe mirror. I wonder if the F56 cover would fit our cars?

Ok,

They do look the similar ( looked at this a while back before ), if they were exact , MINI would have based it on there fitment guide and would have added them. There must be something different. I will measure both and get back to you. And we have those covers and much much more.

Poked around on RealOEM a bit. The base part number for our mirror is also used on the
E88 1-Series Convertible, E89 Z4 Roadster, and the R58/R59.

None of the variations show up against the F56, but that's not to say that the casing wasn't re-used with different "guts"; that wouldn't show up as the outer housing is not a separately replaceable part.

Interestingly, the baseplate for the mirror (the part that attaches to the roof) is used on almost everything in the BMW family: E38/E65/E66 7-Series,E39 5-Series, E46 3-Series, E53 X5, E83 X3, E85/E86 Z4, of course R58 Coupe and R59 Roadster, and most interesting of all RR2/RR2N Drophead Convertible and RR3/RR3N Coupe. Those last two are the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead (convertible) and Coupe! Something to tell your friends: "oh yes, and MINIs share parts with Rolls Royces, don't you know chaps!"
