Considering buying 2014 JCW coupe

Does the exhaust pop as much in this year as previous years?

Previous years? For the coupe, or in general?

For the coupe, it's basically the same N18. Sport mode brings a little pop and burble, but none in "normal" mode.

In general, say as compared to the R53s, less.

Things do vary MINI to MINI though.

Mine is a 2013 with the same engine. It pops and burbles a lot.

Mine does (2014 JCW Coupe), way more than my 2007 MCS (zero). I like it too. What are the specs/price of the car you're considering Bean0709?

It is a white silver/black top, loaded with everything including navi. Has a little over 2k miles. They are asking $29,000. I am trying to get them down some. I am trading my '06 MCS with 35k miles and they want to give me 9k. I would like to get more as we just dumped a whole clutch replacement (including flywheel) and numerous other parts into it. It is the sweetest '06 I have seen in a long time.

It seems you have a good deal for a so low mileage JCW Coupe and they keep a pretty strong value.

The piece of mind for another 2 years remaining on the maintenance program is a big incentive in my opinion.

I am curious. How much does it cost to replace a clutch at just 35K?

I bought it 2 months ago and the clutch was bad. My husband did the clutch. He replaced every single thing (flywheel), every gasket-everything. It was around $1,400. All OEM parts through ECS.

I actually had a 2012 JCW coupe before. I traded it when i convinced myself i felt like i was driving in a coffin and everyone kept staring at me like it was a fricken Lamborghini or something. Haha

Thanks for the purchases sounds like someone road the clutch or was very hard on it all the time for that low of miles.

It is a unique car and does get allot of looks, most people don't even know what it is. Well unless your anothere MINI owners.

How much was the car new? My 2014 JCW Coupe was $41k new and I paid 39. No NAV but most other options. that doesn't sound like a bad deal at $30k for an almost new car. There aren't many of those cars around either. In 2014 a total of 1000 Coupes were sold in the US. 9k for a 2006 doesn't sound bad either. I like the coffin comment. I've got tined windows and with the lack of rear windows and the little rear window I know the feeling! I had a sunroof in my 2007 Mini and no tint, so this is real different. I like it!

This is a coffin ,

Roof Container For MINI - Titan Silver

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/82732223390/

MINI Coupe' just feels like a well built GT car. With the slope of the front window its like BMW Z4 / Z3 or even a 1 series feel.

Do you have pics, or you can post after you buy it. Sounds like a deal.

I don't feel being in a coffin in my JCW Coupe. The cabin is pretty large and comfortable. I don't have any side or rearview issues with tinted windows.

I still have not pulled the trigger on this deal yet. I have them down to $28,500. This car even has the upgraded alcantara steering wheel, rear diffuser, temp and torque gauges, JCW carbon shifter and all of the trim has been blacked out (which I love). I am having a difficult time making the decision bc i would be increasing my monthly payment substantially. Just not sure if this is the right deal or not or if I should wait for a hardtop to come along.

I am sure no one on this thread (considering it is the coupe category) with point me in the hardtop direction. LOL

The only thing I do not like about this car is the top is black and I would like it red to match side mirrors...I guess I could paint it.

Yep you could paint it or have a graphic company make a template and wrap it.

Paint its might be expensive , I know someone who paid ~3 K to do it, but I think that was high priced.

Hope you can get it.

Try to negotiate that they certify it with Mini Coopers Certified Pre-0wned Next (CPO).
This will give you an additional two years warranty on the car.

JCW Coupes are gonna disappear pretty soon here for the most part if they haven't already. And this one sounds pretty loaded. BUY THE THING ASAP! Then you can get a graphics person to do the roof for you. Cheap! I saw on the F56 forum someone paid $40k for a JustaCooper with a manual transmission. That's 20 grand for the options alone. Thank you BMW!

The deal is good as long as it is the car you want. If you expect cargo space and something practical, the Coupe is not. Also you said you owned one and you feel like in a coffin. It is obvious you sold it for some reason.

At this point, even a 1K less at the deal doesn't make a big difference but to have to repaint the top will be an additional 2K if not more for sure.

So, whatever makes you happy.
