Similar to my car, nice! I had those same red plastic pieces on my rims, from GoBadges. Then I got my tires replaced so the red plastic got ripped off there and there's this glue crap on the rims. Goo Gone didn't do anything. Suggestions?

I've had blue RimBlades on my S coupe for about 10 months and haven't needed to remove any sticky yet. I ordered a set of red ones for my wife's JCW coupe today and on their website in the FAQs, they say:

"NOTE: The adhesive is powerful stuff, but it’s not so powerful that it can’t be removed from your wheels. If any residue is left behind, WD-40 and a soft cloth will remove it without damaging your wheel finish."

Try it, can't hurt.

It was at a Ford dealership in Branson, Mo. Had been listed for over 4 months. Pictures were bad and the description wasn't compelling but I could tell it was what I wanted. Dealer took off an addition $4k so I flew to Mo and drove it back to Houston with a huge smile on my face. It's been there ever since. Now to sell my previous MCS!!

Yep thats the one, i was looking for R58 and R59's on there one day and saw it. Great deal on that. Funny most I see are at GM or Ford dealerships on the corner or front lot. Mine was the same way when i bought it, out front and center, right by a new Z07. It was there for a while because most people shopping that dealer had no clue what it was.

Congrats.

Thanks a lot, I'll try that. I did like the RimBlades and was tempted to get more and stick them over this goo, but it is a lot of that stuff on there. I'll see if I get it off and go for more. Thanks again.

My pleasure Sir,

I get nearly as many compliments on my blue wheel stripes as I do for my car!

By the way, the JCW I bought last week is like yours except no connected, no recaros, no dunlaps, and red over silver white metallic.

I noticed that you are in Ohio. I was also looking at a 2013 JCW Coupe in Ohio from Finest Auto Sales (I think) but that one on autotrader.com. Similar price and options but I didn't like the sales guy that I talked to on the phone. It's still for sale if you're looking. It's a nice Coupe.

Yea, its not as nice as the one you bought ( has less options ) or anywhere near the one i have now. I dont know why some people don't pick options on a JCW. Saw it online. Not shopping for another R58 JCW right now , but if i find one for a good price

Thanks for the heads up.

I did see a GP2 for a great deal just north of here but someone on the forums from Texas scooped it up.

Congrats on the great find again.

I agree, with the possible exception of mine.

The black stripes on the Reef Blue aren't even visible from 10 feet out, and whatever color stripes that are on the roof have faded to a dull grey and look awful.

I'm planning to have it stripped, clayed, polished, and sealed soon, and for an extra $100 they'll take off the stripes first and make sure there's no adhesive left before polishing.

I think I'm going to let them do it.

I am happy I have never had stripes for the same reason. My paint is sealed and a lot easier to maintain. I always have compliment how bright it is.

I also feel the Coupe looks more classy without them but this a matter of personal taste.

You can use paint thinner. It also works well to dissolve road grime on paint and plastic parts without damage to the clear coat.

Not Rimblades

The red trim on the wheels is actually part of this particular wheel design, not a Rimblade. I've always liked the red stripe on a black wheel and felt fortunate that these wheels were already on this car when I found it.

Did anyone ever answer this for you? I tried to mount a front strut brace from my R56 and the mounts matched up but I had clearance issues with the MAF connector located on the air filter tube. The brace was a GTSpec, not the JCW strut but I wonder if the connector would still be in the way for the JW one. Curious to know what you've discovered.

Claremore is great place to live! Very family oriented city. There are 2 S Coupes here that I know of. Mine and a 2012 Red with a white top. I haven't seen any others in The Tulsa area. The fact that the only Mini dealer is in the state is in Oklahoma City may have an effect on that. The Coupes and Roadsters are rare here! Keep on Motoring!
