Mini USA is very slow to update. My coupe went into production Wed. morning and 2.5 days later the automated phone service still has it listed only as scheduled for production.

 

Completely typical unfortunately. But the data comes from across the pond so I guess we have to accept it. I would much rather they put resources to building it rather than giving me up to date info. LOL

 

Yea mine went into production on Weds.. but the Owners Lounge site finally updated yesterday evening.

On-line status today finally shows mine scheduled for production!

 

Went by the dealer again today (actually, right off the plane from Atlanta) to see the Coupe again. Gets better looking every time I see it.

Also got my productions date - Sept 19. *Jar-Jar Happy Dance*

 

Cool. I still don't know my production number for a (supposed) week 40 build.

 

My coupe S has now moved to "schedule for Production" in the owners lounge and it has a VIN number. Time to update the signature.

 

Good news: I finally have a production number for my JCW Coupe (3660XXX)
Bad news: It has moved to week 42.

 

I was week 38/39.. and my car is already in production on Week 36 :P

What's the next digit in your production number? The reason I ask is that a couple of us have 36607xx production numbers and we have already entered production. Also, did you happen to order connected and/or nav? Week 42 seems a bit far out for that production number to me unless there was some sort of delay.

Also, what shows up in the tracking site of the Owner's Lounge for you with that production number? Is it showing an "On Order" status, and if so, is all of your configuration information for your specific Coupe correct (e.g. color, options, etc.)?

 

It is 36609XX. I haven't been home yet to check MINIUSA.com. I'll let you know.

I did not order nav or MINI Connected.

 

I really think the sequence of the production number doesn't mean anything in regards to it getting built early or not.

 

I just got logged in to MINI USA. It says:

"The current status of your 2012 Metallic Midnight Black metallic JCW Coupe is - On Order."

 

Has anyone confirmed if there car is truly going through production? Automated service of course says 'Scheduled for Production but with no production date yet' but I know that it always lags behind.

 

Been watching it. The only info I have is from my sales manager that says it was moved from week 42 to week 37.

 

I ordered my Coupe yesterday. The funny thing was my wife and I went in to purchase a 2012 JCW hardtop. I had been talking to my wife previously about the coupe but each photo I showed her led her to the same thought; She didn't like the looks of the coupe.
I was told that the coupe was at the dealership so we made time to come in and have her take a look in person. When she saw the coupe she said, "I love it, it is so cute!" Since we share cars I needed her on board.
A few minutes later we were doing the paperwork for a JCW coupe.

I will probably loose the red mirrors for the union jack when it come in.

My coupe has been assigned a vin. I don't think it will actually begin the build for a couple of days, but once you get your vin from the owners lounge it is in mini's queue to be built. I would imagine that the coupes that were scheduled will start being built early this week and should be heading to the port by the weekend.

 

Ah ok. Yea I've had my VIN since like Weds/Thursdayish.

866-ASK-MINI automated system told me today that my coupe is in the body shop with a completion date of 14 SEP. That means I could catch one of the boats leaving on the 17th.

 

I can never get the automated system. It always defaults to a human operator. I wonder why that is? They also can only tell me it's in production with no specific status. Very strange if you ask me.

 

Strange, I just checked it again and went right to automated system. Same status but it at least tells me something.

 

I know it's very strange. Every time I have called, (about 10 on many different days.) it always goes to a live person rather that the automated system. Uh Oh I wonder if they have me flagged for some reason? LOL
