Interesting....but after watching out for spy shots of R56 for what seems like years I think I've seen enough of those special black body-disguising panels to last me a lifetime.

Pics worked for me . The 09 looks pretty much like I expected it would you know kinda like an R56 w/a rag top . Here's hoping I come into a small sum of spare moolah so I can replace my 05 cabrio with a new 08ish R52 before the next gen design comes out

That's what I was thinking. No suprises from the outside but I wonder if the convertible will have any new, cool features inside?

As well, I want MINI to make a hardtop convertible! So many new convertibles are hardtop (VW Eos for example) and even though they cost a bit more than softop, they look better and can morph your car into a sexy car in the summer AND winter.... and no one can tell the difference

I'd love for MINI to do the hardtop thing... Although I guess the added weight would be an issue....

I just don't know. With all that disguised body work, who is to say what brand or model this car is?

Really now. . . what is the point of hiding it at this point?
