How do you reset the front brake sensor?

if the sensor was tripped you must replace the worn (consumed) sensor

if your car is a GEN2 then you have two brake wear trackers

one is a simple miles counter similar to the oil change counter. It is possible for this one to go off and you don't actually need pads and you reset this warning thru the stalk that talks to the on board computer

the other is the actual wear sensor which works by hanging a chunk of plastic in the pad face with a loop of wire in it - current passes thru this wire. As the pad gets thinner, so does the sensor until the wire hits the pad and breaks. LITE goes on, time to replace pads. To clear THIS light you must reconnect the two ends by either replacing the worn sensor OR clipping the old (and pretty worthless IMO) sensor off and connecting the two wire ends together. A GEN2 will detect the new connection and clear this light with no other action required (note the TWO systems are separate ... the sensor will clear itself, the counter will not IME)

There are two sensors, front left wheel and back right (pass side). Typically only one tripped.

If you replaced a used sensor and the light won't clear, you may not have seated the connection properly and the car still sees an OPEN. To clear the light the car needs current to pass thru the loop that is the sensor.

"warning thru the stalk that talks to the on board computer" I believe it is this one and not sure how to reset it. Any ideas? Thanks for the info.
