What do you wear to protect head from sun?

Looking to be a R57 owner soon (if I can wear the wife down enough) with looking at a black 2009 Cooper convertible with 85k on it. On the surface and after a test drive it seems lik a cream puff but I worry about the mechanicals.

Anyway, that's not the point of this thread....being folically challenged, I'm curious what head wear topless MINI owners wear to protect from sunburned heads, wind swept hair, wind burn etc.

How stylish are you? Add a photo image to show off the hat, scarf, doo-rag, visor, etc.

I got burnt out (no pun intended) on the whole convertible thing when I was younger. My first car was a vert and I had the top down all the time. Now I won't drive my wife's unless the sun is set. Too hot in the summer and I don't like being sun burnt. Yes, I am a fuddy duddy.

Cloudy

You could move to Michigan. The sun's not much of an issue.

Mine's not a Cabrio, it's a Countryman, but I have the giant panoramic suroof (all of my MINIs have had sunroofs as a matter of fact). Driving in South Florida with such strong sun can lead to nasty burns when the sunroof is open, so I keep a ball cap in the car. I also keep sunscreen in the car at all times.

I've owned many rag tops over the years - 66 Mustang, VW Rabbit, Miata, 20 years of top down driving or more, but not a MINI - BUT

IME the driver and pass' seats are in a bubble from the front windshield. So much so that a very successful product for the Miata was a scoop to mount on the top of the windshield header that deflects air onto the pass' ..... but I digress

IME, front seat pass' can wear any form of ball cap, sport cap or head wrap .... so long as it fits snug and is not too tall

I prefer and recommend

classic english sport cap style

I just use a MINI hat. Click below to see more.

Get a wind deflector if you don't have one already ( really like mine ) and you will not loose your hat at high speed , keep the wind in the cabin down also. Well unless your really tall.

Checkered version has little storage areas. Both come with travel storage bags.

I have a red and white ballcap that coordinates with my Chili Red paint. I'm 6'5" and have no problem with it staying on at highway speeds, although here in CT, I'm often driving in the shade during my morning and evening commute and wearing the cap to keep my bare head warm.
My wife, who has plenty of hair, keeps a visor in the door pocket.

I have several of the MINI branded ball caps, e.g., solid red, black JCW, off white 37. Depends on my mood.
