Help - is a Trailer Hitch still an option on the 2012 S Convertible?

Am close to pulling the trigger on a 2012 Convertible S but am worried I may not have an option to add a trailer hitch - I see that Bike Rack prep is no longer an option on the configurator, and Minidomore does not have the 2012 listed as one of their products.

Anyone know if there's been a change that means no trailering for 2012 model?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, yes the hitch #2007 model hitch will fit on your 2012 S convertible just fine. We have updated the website so it has the 2012 models listed....

Fantastic. Great info and a pretty good price. Really nice option for carrying bikes or other hitch-based stuff. Might look into a kayak carrier that fits into a hitch.

The Minidomore and Curt hitches are flush with the bumper, you have to reach under the bumper to insert a hitch pin.

I highly recommend the 1up bike rack. It's pricey, but no hitch pin required, and it's incredibly easy to use.

If you need ready access to the hitch pin then check out the MiniFini hitch. The MiniFini was the dealer installable option back in the Gen1 days, but it is more expensive.

There is a good thread over in the R59 section "Hitch for my roadster ordered".

I wrote up my experience with the MiniFini hitch coupled with the 1up rack. T.G. went the Minidomore/Curt route.

Though I think the door opens down on the MINI convertible so the design would have to be changed to fall down more.
