Just picked it up got Q

When the car is parked alarm set the P in gear selector stays illuminated is this normal ?

While that 'P' light is on, you can push on the Volume Knob and operate the Radio/CD Player with the engine off (and key/fob removed).

It will also turn itself off after :20-:30 minutes.

The Mini has a lot of quirks which I don't think you will be able to find in the owners manual...at least I couldn't.

It seems that after removing the key at lot of interior stuff still has power - or at least available power - like your "P" and the radio. Now if you have the radio "on" when you remove the key, it will go off; but if you push the "on/off" button it will come back on for 30 minutes.

Here's another for you. After removing the key, turn on one of your map lights. When you get out and close the door - lock it if you wish - the light will stay on. Come back in 30 minutes and watch it turn off.
