This is my first custom ordered car and my first MINI. Been in love with this car for a while and finally am able to get one. I'll be leasing this car for a business where I do a substantial amount of driving. Each package has one or more "must haves" as far as I am concerned, but it also kinda freaks me out that I'm about to order a car just shy of $40k. 'Course that includes NAV and leather, HK stereo, etc. (I'm a toy nut, I admit it) Any thoughts before I pull the trigger or does this just seem incredibly foolhardy? Only one I might drop is Convenience depending on final costs when I meet with my Motoring Advisor tomorrow to go through final numbers.
My Mini is similarly equipped. Only thing I didn't get was PDC or the Ipod adapter (it's an 07 so no USB port).
If you're happy with it and the price, order it! Every time I've had mine in for service and I get a loaner, I instantly miss all the "extras" I ordered with my car.

Same here, No PDC, iPod adapter or satellite radio and just got my own car back after not being able to drive it for almost a month. I never thought that having to get my keys out of my pocket would be such a hassle
Really? I'll admit there's other differences, but a comparably optioned A4's price was nearly double what I paid for the Mini, also significantly more for a 3 series. I could have picked up the lowest end C Class Mercedes for a couple thousand more and gotten zero options.
It hits a nice balance of price/performance/economy/luxury/style that's hard to hit with any other car, or much more expensive compared to the 'premium' manufacturers options.
Jeremy is right. I went with just about every single option (factory and dealer installed) except for PDC. I wanted PDC, but the factory forgot to instal it. No one has asked me so far, but I suspect my vehicle as shown below is above $40K. It's a little more than what I had budgeted for, but I'll tell you one thing. It's worth every penny in my opinion. It's like no other vehicle I've owned or driven and everytime you get in you get a smile on your face as you accelerate from each and every light.
Anyways, here is my 09 Mini Convertible I went with.

It probably sounds like a lot of options, but like you, I'm also a tech nut, plus I like to purchase my vehicles fully loaded if possible... Incase it helps, here are the latest pictures after all these options have been installed:
Would it be possible to have PDC retrofitted? Have you looked into that at all, know of a price?
For my 07 MCS, I asked 3 dealers in the last year or so and they all said no. All 3 said it's because the wiring isn't in the car for it. If the wiring was there, it would just be a matter of plugging in the modules, swapping the rear valence for the one with radar, and programming the car's system.
I also noticed that your signature has the Gen1 Convertible. You need to update it to reflect your new 2010 R57. Maybe Jeremy can help there, as his signature has the newer R57 image.

I can't help with that. My signature was done by Craig (cooperation.) Post a pretty-please in the 'What If' thread in General MINI Talk and you will receive a surprise in your PM box though.
I got the four major packages plus armrest and hifi stereo. I really like all the goodies. One thing I should have gotten is the iPod connection in the secret compartment. I have the Bluetooth with iPod interface but the jacks are in the center console. I plan on relocating them to the secret compartment.
Didn't get the sport suspension as I didn't want too harsh of a ride.
Had the MINI over four months and still look for excuses to drive Go for it!
I got rid of the runflats before I took delivery.
Was too cheap to get the NAV

I got the ipod adapter and wanted it in the secret compartment, so I was really disappointed to go pick Simone up and see that the ipod adapter was under the center console. It was an expensive add on that was placed in a stupid spot.
I pretty much got everything on Simone, and it is so worth it. Plus, I have waited my whole life for the opportunity to get what I wanted, so it is worth it to pay a little more for the smiles and happiness therapy that I get when driving Simone.
I also got the Horizon Blue with hot chocolate top. It is a hot car and she gets complements everywhere we go!

It is possible to retrofit the PDC its an option on the MINI website in the UK from £150.00 retrofit. Now as they are essentially the same cars don't know why it wud b different for the US

Links or Documents please... I think many of us are interested in the factory PDC retrofit if it's possible over here in the states.
