Rattle and Hum

Two weeks into my MINI and loving every minute of it.

The only issues I have had so far, are couple of rattles and a hum. The one rattle I seem to hear most frequently is coming from the area where the driver's side front and rear windows meet. I hear this with both the top up or down. With the top up, there seems to be some rattles from the top edge of the windshield.

The rattles are not regular, I mostly hear them when I go over a small bump, or a manhole etc (in San Diego, that is pretty common ).

There is also a bit of a hum or a buzzing noise coming from the stalk of the lock on the driver's side. It is a faint hum, but drives me crazy after a while The solution I have hit upon is to keep the door locked when I am inside - I do not hear the buzzing noise when the stalk is down.

I do intend to talk to the dealer about these issues. But was wondering if anyone has already dealt with these before.

Hi RedZip,
Have not had this problem. Our cars are very much alike accept that you have the Sports suspension. We have the same color package and rims, accept you have the piano black interior. My point is that since you have the sports suspension, perhaps you notice it more due to the tighter feel of that suspension. Regardless, there shouldn't be a rattle.

When the windows are 1/3 down, can you grab the glass and reproduce that rattle? or how about 2/3 down? Just curious.

Fabulous MINI by the way !
