New CROC on the bloc!

(Have been lurking in various threads already talking about my new chilli red, but this is the formal introduction)

Introducing.....(pardon my French)..... La Petite Rouge.... Roxane:

She is a 09 MCSC with Sports and Cold-weather Packages. Also has Multi-function steering wheel, Sports Suspension, Bluetooth/iPod, Auto AC, Chrome and Piano Black interior trim.
(will put up some pictures of the interior later)

Picked her up last Saturday. Had to be away for four days due to a business trip (the pangs of separation!), but now I am happily back behind the wheels and having a blast!

Now, I need advice on the following:

1. Even though the car has Sports package, she did not come with the bonnet stripes. My wife says she (the car, not her) does not need it, and she (the car again) looks sporty enough. I am kinda' undecided. Any opinions ?

2. Where I live currently in San Diego, I have to park outside and we have been getting a lot of dust swirling over from the canyons. It leaves a layer of dust/sand on the car. Suggestions for any gentle way of removing the dust ?

Very nice...as for the dust on the roof, I use air compressor/canned air, natural hair brush & lint roller...Blow...Brush...Lift.

Maybe someone else can chime in on what they use.

I would advise against using high pressure hoses. They push the dirt deeper into the fabric.

Welcome to NAM-land from MAD-town, WI. Always great to see another topless one join the herd. Wanting to keep your MINI clean is good, however, it is a narrow path you are on grasshopper, one stumble and you will fall into the OCD ravine, so be careful.

Very nice, but stripes are right for a mini, IMHO (sporty enough ). As for the dust & sand, I believe that you should resist the temptation to remove it other than by real washing with wet water and car soap. Following this rule will greatly minimize swirls.

she definitely doesn't have to put on the red light!

Nice config. I like stripes but variety is the spice of mini, and the car looks sweet as is.

I tend to favor black stripes to match the black top and trim on cabrios, and white on white roof/mirror cap models.

Don't believe the "stripe hype." Roxie looks great without 'em. My Mini, "Red", is her identical twin.

Cheers, Bill

See if you can find some Black Stripes with a Silver Edge, or Silver Stripes with a Black Edge. I think your Black Top and Wheels being Black and Silver might L@@K reall nice with this combination. I would err on no stripes, but that's just MO. Just thought I'd give an opinion on asthetics.

She is a Beaut...with/without stripes!! You and your wife choose, that's what makes YOUR MINI (U-ified)!! Flip a Coin??

Wow...indeed they are twins !

Race to St Louis won't be fair - we have more mountains to get through .

But seriously..... it would be fun if something like that was organized sometime in the future.
