Cream White Cloth/Leather Seats - Available in the UK, why not in the US?

I want these. I want these bad. Why aren't these available to US MINI buyers? Instead, we are stuck with only blue and red. How can we get MINI to change their mind on this?

So, you agree that this is the perfect interior for a PW/B R56? I want to join you in the Pepper White Owners Club. But I was having a hard time with the interior. This is the interior I want. Can we organize the Peerage of the Pepper White here on NAM to appeal to MINI to offer Cream White Leather/Cloth seats to US would-be MINI owners? How can we get this done?

i do agree it'd be the best interior color for pepper white. however, people in the US seem to not like *interesting* interior colors, but instead only want black or gray or tan, so we often get stuck w/ the boring and safe color combos. so we're s*** out of luck. so go w/ the red, or i wonder if you cried hard enough and paid enough $ your dealer might somehow figure out a way to do a special order?

I don't get why MINI can't offer them anyway? I mean, they are putting the seats in UK Minis. They've got the seats. It shouldn't be any problem for them to put these seats in a custom-ordered Mini that's headed for the US.

You should join the Pepper White Owners Club, regardless of what interior you want. It's a great color! And I really don't see why you can't get a dealer to pull some strings. If you haven't ordered your car yet it would be worth a try! Too late for me, however.

It's because they know Americans will be drinking and eating while talking on the cell phone and will, therefore soon turn the cream to brown.

In case you are wondering, this is sarcasm, as I was defending the existence of the cup holder in prior posts.

Intersting theory...LOL

My guess is it's because the British manufacturers want to keep something special for themselves. It could be a big conspiracy against us...

"English? Who needs that? I'm never going to England."

MINI USA's Comments Line Gives the Big Brush Off:

Thanks for writing MINI. I'm glad to hear that you are considering a MINI.

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have any plans to offer the Cream White cloth/leather seats in the United States. I do apologize for the disappointment this causes.

If there are further questions I can assist with, please feel free to drop me an e-mail. I will be happy to lend a hand.

I love that interior. If only it were available. I wonder what the cost would be to order the parts from a dealer in Mexico?

That doesn't explain why they don't offer the black version here. I'd have liked to get the black version they offer in the UK. The Blue and Red they do offer are a bit garish, though once we've lived with them (we have one Blue and one Red now) we've got used to them.

If im correct, if you go to mini usa and build a clubman, you will see this under one of the interior upholstery choices... Try it!

It does look good. I selected the red/black leather/cloth to liven up the interior. Only downside is that after only 15k miles the red is starting to discolor on the driver's side. I suspect the white would not stand up to wear very well.

Hmmmm. Got me thinking. Are the seats, front and back, the same in a MC/MCS and a Clubman? If they are I could just order the replacement covers and do a swap. I have a feeling that once I see the price recreating the look might be a lot cheaper at a custom upholstery shop.
